[Cache - #56]
Will you be setting the mood with a Valentine’s gift? Romance is one of the most powerful triggers to the things we buy – choices aided by sultry naming. Here’s a top three list of romantic names this Feb 14:
Godiva – the name of this glamorous chocolate brand was inspired by Lady Godiva, who according to legend, rode naked through the streets of Coventry, England “to win relief for the people from a burdensome tax.” Sort of an 11th-century (and more interesting) version of the Occupy movement.
Victoria’s Secret – this name’s hook comes from the contradiction between Victoria, a name that connotes a quite proper and upstanding lady, with the fact that she has a secret. A se*y secret.
Tiffany’s – for its sense of girlishness entitlement, a name suggestive of pricey and pretty diamonds.
And of course, if you don’t have a special someone to indulge this Valentine’s, remember: there’s always Match, eHarmony and Plenty of Fish.
